Hi, All!
I am attaching my VERY FIRST svg ever!!! I hope you like it. It is his & hers owls.
I have had Inkscape for a while, and have struggled hard to learn how to create my own svg's on it. (I used to think I was smart until I started doing this!) My goal is to be able to create my own digital elements and basically whatever I can think of in Inkscape, to cut out on my Cricut with SCAL2.
Sue was gracious enough to give me some pointers on this thing - I very much appreciate it. Now that I have done one, I feel empowered to do more - the sky's the limit!
The tutorials on this site have been oh-so-helpful. Many times during the production of this first svg I have had to stop and look up how to do what was in my mind. I have been printing tutorials and writing down things I knew I would forget.
I still feel like Inkscape hasn't fully 'clicked' yet. But, I know it is coming and I can't wait to make more. I love borders - I feel some borders coming on!
Cheers! Wanda (Henweigh)

Hooooray for you. I know how hard it is to post your very first creation and this is adorable. I've looked at your svg and all looks good, you even put the pieces in LAYERS!!! Earrings too.

Thanks for being brave enough to post and I look forward to the borders.

A great job

Well done Wanda, you did a more complex Inkscape first project then I ever did when I was starting out; so feel very proud of yourself. Trust me when I say that when you get that click, there won't be enough paper and card for you to play with......

Welcome Wanda and thank you for sharing your cute owls. You did great and it is much better than my first design. I look forward to seeing your borders.

Susan is a wonderful teacher and I am glad she encouraged you to post. I enjoy seeing people post their projects as they learn. I am sure Inkscape will click for you soon. I know I struggled for a long time when I started using Inkscape but once you know where to look for things and know a few of the basics, it does get easier.

Wonderful owls!
They're so cute.
You were brave to post your first design.
My first inkscape drawing was squiggles and stuff from trying out the tools, and nothing could have gotten me to
share it. My first cutting design is still unfinished. :P
Thanks
